Chromium subscriptions

There are two types of subscriptions, stable and trunk. A stable release subscription costs $25 and gets you 3 stable releases: for example if you sign up now, you will get all the stable releases from 16.0 up to all the 18.0 releases in 4 months. The stable builds are updated a couple times a month as new minor revisions are pushed out. A trunk release subscription costs $7 per month, which is taken out of a $50 up-front deposit: trunk subscribers get weekly builds from the latest commits in Chromium trunk and the stable builds too. You can read a list of the various bugfixes and features worked on so far, along with open issues that a subscription would pay for. I used to estimate how long it'd take me to get this port done if there were 100-150 subscribers, but given that we haven't come close to that, with 13 subscribers now, no point in guesstimating. It'll be done when it's done: the more subscribers there are, the more time I spend on the port.

Builds are currently provided for the following platforms. Subscribers can request builds for a platform not on this list, like NetBSD 5.1 amd64:

You will receive login information through email. All patches for a particular build will be released to subscribers under the BSD license 1 year after that build was released. If the development costs for a particular issue are paid off before 1 year, the patch for that feature will be opened earlier. The goal is to keep pushing code back upstream before the year's up, which has already helped Chromium as one developer has noted. If you change your mind about a subscription at any time, you will be refunded your payment minus the prorated amount for however long you subscribed.
